The Norfolk & Suffolk Broads B U R G H C A S T L E
River location: On the River Waveney upstream from Breydon Water. The river is very tidal.
Facilities: Public moorings on the tidal River Waveney (24hr Free) are on the east bank and as the river rise and fall here can be over 2 metres, care must be taken with overnight mooring. There is a pub and a private marina with full services. Burgh Castle is close by.
The ruins of Burgh Castle overlook Breydon Water to the north of the marina. There are several camp sites in the surrounding countryside and there are riverside walks to the castle and the surrounding marshes. The village is a short walk from the marina up Church Road.
