The Norfolk & Suffolk Broads L U D H A M, H O W H I L L & W O M A C K
River location: Ludham village is to the east of Ludham Bridge on the River Ant and How Hill is about 2 miles upstream of Ludham Bridge on the east bank of the Ant. Womack Staithe is at the end of Womack Water on the River Bure and is the closest access point to the village. To get to Womack Staithe From Ludham Bridge go downstream to Ant Mouth and turn left onto the River Bure, then turn left onto the River Thurne and Womack Water is about one mile on the left from Thurne Mouth. The staithe is at the end of the dyke that is narrow and twisting.
Facilities: Visitor moorings (24hr Free) at Ludham Bridge on the east bank with electric point, fresh water, boatyard, diesel, shop and a pub by the bridge. At Womack Staithe there are visitor moorings (stern on) and shop.
How Hill has a tourist infromation office (accessed by a footpath) where guided nature trips around the River Ant and it's small dykes in the "Electric Eel" can be booked.
Ludham Bridge is 8ft 6ins and Ludham village is a two mile walk from the bridge and in the village there are shops, petrol and a pub. The village may also be accessed from Womack Staithe by a short walk (half a mile) up a lane to the main road and then turn left for the village.
