River location: Upstream of Wroxham Broad on the River Bure

Facilities: Visitor moorings upstream of the bridge (24hr Free) on the North bank. Facilities in various boatyards. Petrol & Diesel available. Fresh water. Pump out. Bridge pilot at Wroxham Bridge with 7ft 3ins headroom at average water.

Wroxham virtually belongs to Roys! The shops fill the village and you can buy anything from cheap T shirts to plants, groceries, household appliances, makeup, medicines and drink. The river here has a myriad of sidings, some are boatyards, and there are several hire boat companies, both day trip and weekly. The maze of dykes has riverside dwellings and private moorings. Day trip boats are available either side of the famous bridge and it is advisable, if not a requirement, to use the bridge pilot to negotiate the low, curved road bridge. A newer pedestrian bridge has now been built next to the old bridge making it is safer for pedestrians who used to take their chances with the traffic. Chip shops and amusements can be found here two along with river side pubs serving food. Food is from Roy's and there is a fishing tackle and bait shop near Roy's car park. There is a replica paddle steamer that takes visitors for a river cruise as far as Horning. To the north of the village is a narrow gauge steam railway.

Leaving Wroxham downstream towards Horning the river is lined with moorings and properties built with gardens flirting with the river banks. Many attractive and unusual buildings, a lot are holiday cottages, can be seen here and this is a very busy part of the broads, some may say the capital, with thousands of boats daily passing in the summer. Two miles downstream of Wroxham is Wroxham Broad with its entrance on the right bank of the river. There are visitor moorings here (24hrs Free). The broad is home to a sailing club and there are also quiet places to moor using your mud weight. Further down the Bure is Salhouse Broad, also with visitor moorings (24hr Free).
